Claire Clarke

Claire Clarke studied oboe with local musician Derek Oldfield. She holds an Associate Performance Diploma from Trinity College of Music in London and an Associate Teaching Diploma from London College of Music. Since the age of 16 Claire has been a regular face on the West Norfolk performing scene and then later in her career as a woodwind tutor. As a young music student she was lucky enough to perform in front of Sir Malcolm Arnold at All Saints Church.

Claire made her Concerto Debut in 1999 with the Iceni Orchestra and co-ordinated their series of instrumental workshops which brought professional expertise to young instrumentalists in the area. She is a co founder of Anglia Concertante and performed the Corelli Oboe Concerto at their first concert. In May 2007 she performed the Mozart and Malcolm Arnold oboe quartets at All Saints and will be performing the Gordon Jacob and E Moeran oboe quartets in 2008. She is also a member of the medieval music group the Lynn Waites in which she can most definitely be heard playing Alto Shawm! After a successful and enjoyable 10 years of woodwind teaching, Claire is now a full time Mum to Oliver and Harry and is enjoying this new stage of her life.
