Prayer is
talking to God, no more, no less.
It is not a
complicated practice and is no more taxing than ordinary
conversation. It is just speaking or
articulating our concerns for others, or for ourselves,
asking God for help and inviting others to join us in our
concern for them - whether they know them or not. Names
will do - we do not need to know details or even what you
think, hope or pray should happen - we leave that to God.
The
Anchorhold in All Saints' is mysteriously 'infused' with the
prayers of the Anchoresses - women who devoted their lives
to be concerned, prayerfully, for the lives of people they
did not know and did not see.
God moved
them so much that their love of Him spilt out in their love
of the people of their community.
Their
prayers are no less effective then as they are now,
and we ask them to use their powerful prayer, combined with
ours, to support, help and guide all who turn to us.
Every
prayer you send to us will be prayed daily in the Anchorhold
of our church,
and although we may not see those for whom we pray, nor they
us, we shall hold them all before God in a stream of
spiritual power and prayer, in a place which stands as a
testimony to our belief and our love of God.
Please, let
us help you; let us pray with you and for you. |
